Here are some of the competitions I have participated in:

Infy App Design Challenge

This website was the website to my team project, FutureForge. FutureForge, made by teens for teens is an app that is designed to tackle the issues surrounding future uncertainty and navigating post-secondary plans. In our app, we provide accessible information to financial aid, skill building, career exploration, and midnfulness skills. This app although did not win, made it to the semi-finals of the InfyApp competition, in which I am very proud of.

G4C(Games 4 Change Challenge)

This is a challenge that I have participated in both my junior year and my sophomore year. This is the game that I created during my junior year, GreenQuest. The G4C Challenge, is a challenge where students, like myself choose a theme that it related to a current issue, whether it be about pollution, or world hunger. I selected to create a game about protection of the environment to show users what role we play as a community and what we can do to protect our environment. GreenQuest is a 2-3 level game, that where the user can select a character that was designed by me and would complete mini challenges like planting a tree and picking up trash throughout their community to save their community. This game is simple, interactive, and shows us how we can help out.

Congressional App Challenge

My team and I designed an app for the Congressional App Challenge tackling the idea of student aid or in other words, creating an accessible resource platform for high school students in all subject levels, including AP Courses. To make our app and website more engaging and encouraging for users to practice and learn new things, we began to design and develop mini games that we can embed into our app. We also used playlab, to design an AI chatbot that assists students with whatever lesson they are learning, giving explanations and examples. It would also give them a practice problem to ensure they get it right.

Thomas A Edison Hackathon/GameJam

My school's hackathon/gamejam was one of the most insightful experiences I've had. I was paired into a team consisting of students in grades younger than me and we were tasked to develop a concept of game and a prototype that fits the Games 4 Change theme: Outgrow Hunger. As a theme, we designed a character that plays the role of a farmer. In our game, HarvestHaven, the farmer has to protect his commmunity from the predators that are stealing their resources. In order to win, the farmer has to gain enough food and water to share with the community. Working alongside my team and various mentors from companies like UrbanArts and Gitlab was very interesting and memorable.
